Loco Local

In many cities around the world, strange events take place every year. Sure your city may have the annual beet cookoff challenge or a 5k walk, but these cities are beyond help...

  • Burning Man: Takes place over 6 days in Black Rocky City, Nevada; includes experiments in radical self-expression and the finale, which is the burning of a large wooden sculpture in the shape of a man. Pretty strange? I think so!

  • Weinerschnitzel Weiner Nationals: The US national dachshund racing championships, sponsored by the Weinerschnitzel food chain, which are held in CA, TX, AZ, NV and the finals are held in San Diego as part of the Holiday Bowl. Well hot dog!

  • Miss Crustacean Pageant: Forget the bronzer, vaseline and hairspray. It's up to the hermit crabs in Ocean City, NJ to come out of their shells and be queen.
